Elabora 0.6.0: free placement, new LMS formats, several languages
Place your blocks freely on the screen
SCORM 2004, cmi5 and xAPI, to suit your LMS
One package for a module in several languages
All changes
Place blocks by hand on the canvas. Drag a block over the layout and it takes the place its box comes to, with the zones lit and named; drop it elsewhere, or hold ⌘ (Alt on Windows), and it stays where you let it go, in its place in the reading order. Its handles step through the column’s widths, and a long page scrolls under the drag. « Place » in the inspector gives its position and where it reads on a phone; the screen lists its placed blocks with « Ranger » and « Mettre au propre », which asks your AI for a tidy layout. Works in slides and in scrolling pages.
The package for the LMS comes in the format that suits it: SCORM 2004 for most LMSs, SCORM 1.2 for Moodle and Totara or when no LMS is chosen. « Réglages » shows it under « Format » (« Automatique : SCORM 2004 pour Docebo ») and lets you choose SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, cmi5 or xAPI; « Publier » names the package’s format. All four complete, pass and resume in SCORM Cloud.
Publier lists the module’s languages: check those the package holds, a translation still to approve included, with a line that says how to approve it. Choose the language learners start in, or one package per language for LMSs that manage language versions. The Aperçu offers « Langue » for every translation, so you can try one before it is approved.
« Nouveau module » lets you choose the module’s look under your request: made to measure by your AI, the look of one of your modules, or a template. « Utiliser ce modèle » in a template’s window leads there with the template chosen; « Créer manuellement » makes the template’s screens, or one screen in your module’s look.
Publier gives the module’s weight at the chosen quality, in orange when a media file is heavier than it needs to be. A click lists the media, the heaviest first, with why; a click on one opens its screen. An animated image offers « Transformer en vidéo »: it becomes a video that loops like it, several times lighter, and ⌘Z gives the image back. Photos saved as PNG and heavy videos ship as optimized copies, your files unchanged. The qualities are called Standard, Allégée and Très allégée.
A video is an illustration as an image is: it takes a caption shown under it, and a loop can open full size with « S’ouvre en grand ». A video that loops shows only its file and « En boucle » in its inspector, the rest under « Plus de réglages ».
A new welcome at first launch: five short pages say what Elabora is, what an AI agent is and why your own subscription matters, then ask which AI you want to use: Claude, ChatGPT, or free models. The same choices are in « Votre IA préférée ».
Réglages gain « Personnalisation »: a light or dark appearance, or your computer’s, in every window at once. Messages to the AI send with Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line), or with ⌘ Enter if you prefer. Downloaded elements, AI tools and your account’s lists show as soft cards.
In the chat, the AI ends with a short answer: what changed, or the answer to your question, and what awaits you. It can approve a translated plan for you once you say yes in a card (« Approuver le plan en anglais ? »), in your name. In Claude’s app, Elabora’s extension can now start a new module in your library, blank, from a template, or by importing an archive or a folder.
Two examples are new or rebuilt, each in English and French: « Why is the hour hand 12 times slower? », a 3D clockwork from the dial to the gear train, and the network diagnosis, now a real case with Marc’s ticket, a 3D network and his call.
On Windows, « Redémarrer maintenant » installs an update quietly: Elabora closes, a small window says « Elabora se met à jour », and Elabora opens again on the new version. The app ships a third of the files it did, so an update writes less before Elabora is back. On Mac, the disk image shows the app, the Applications folder and an arrow between them.
Changing screens in the Slide view is smooth from the first visit. In a narrow window, the list of screens floats over the canvas when the first module opens, then folds away. With a mouse, the canvas and Traduction’s « En contexte » keep the course’s full width. Selection boxes fall on the blocks of templates whose blocks come in moving (Editorial, Paper). A screen’s « Terminé » is now « Complété », as in the LMS. On Windows, the Elabora icon opens your menu and the preview window opens centred.
A blank module starts with nothing to fix. A statement block shows the plan’s validated text it names. A steps block’s scroll keeps its figure in phase with the words. A dialogue’s debrief opens over the whole screen in slides. Lines generated as one ElevenLabs exchange keep a sigh that opens a line. Animated WebP images stay animated in every package. Screen readers say a screen is « complété » in French.
For agents and the CLI: place_block and arrange_screen place blocks (D72); elabora build --format (scorm12, scorm2004, cmi5, xapi) and --languages; elabora_projects_create, elabora_templates, elabora_projects_duplicate and elabora_import start modules over MCP, and elabora projects create --charter takes another module’s look (D69); elabora_translation_approve approves a translated plan on the author’s yes; elabora media weights and elabora media to-video; elabora help opens with « Start here » and suggests the closest command on a typo.
The course schemas are published up to 0.1.11: block.place for blocks placed by hand, delivery.format and delivery.languages in course.json, and a video’s caption and zoom. Files pointing to earlier versions stay valid.
