D30. Paid AI services speak in shares of the author's quota, with one threshold (13 Oct 2026)

Once ElevenLabs was in use (13 Oct), credits proved to cause decision fatigue, and people would leave their plan unused when a hundred credits are nothing; every AI service of Elabora shall have the same language and the same rules.

  • A cost is a share of the author’s monthly quota, never credits nor money, in the app, the command line and what agents say: « ~2 % de votre quota mensuel », « 5 % du quota utilisé » (the plan and its credits shown discreetly beside it in the settings only). @elabora/core ai/quota.ts: quotaPercent rounds as people say it (one significant digit under 1 %, whole numbers from 1 %), shareOf, covers (an approval covers a quarter more than its rounded figure).
  • One threshold, APPROVAL_SHARE = 1 % of the monthly quota, shared by every paid AI service. Under it no cost is shown and the action runs on a click; the author’s AI needs no approval either. From it, the app confirms with the share, and agents ask the author before spending (needsApproval, approvedPercent). A quota that cannot be read asks every time. The threshold holds for each action: an agent working screen by screen, each under 1 %, is not stopped by it (the quota used, in the settings and voice account, is what shows the sum).
  • A service whose costs Elabora cannot read as a share of a monthly quota (pay as you go) shall give its own equivalent before it is added; ElevenLabs gives its quota with the key’s User: read (D29). Revisit if: authors on small plans (the free one: about twelve ElevenLabs lines are 1 %) find the confirmations too frequent, or a service’s quota is not monthly.
