Online reviews

Share a course through a link, read your reviewers’ comments in place on the screens, reply, and hand them to your AI.

On this page

Your reviewers (your client, a subject-matter expert) read the course in their browser, without an account, and comment on what they see. Their comments come back into Elabora, in place: on the screen, the block, the step, even the word of the narration.

Signing in to Elabora

Online review goes through Elabora’s hosting, which needs an account. For now, Elabora is open by invitation: only invited addresses receive a code.

  1. On the home page, You menu › Sign in to Elabora….
  2. Enter your email address, then Get a code; type the 8-digit code you received by email (valid for 10 minutes).
  3. The first time, choose your space’s address (you can change it later, once every 30 days) and your name (it signs your replies to reviewers), tick the age box and accept the terms, then Create my space.

Your courses stay on your computer: nothing is sent without your say.

Sharing a course for review

  1. Open Publish. Under Destinations, tick Review (“A secret link for your reviewers, no account for them”).
  2. The first time, you can give a Title for your reviewers and A note for your reviewers, which they will read when they open the review.
  3. Click Share for review. Elabora publishes this version privately, then shows Your review is ready, with the link: Copy, or Write an email… to send it ready-made.

Anyone with this link can read the course and comment on it: send it only to your reviewers. Red checks do not stop the review: reviewing what is not finished is the whole point.

You can also share from the Review view, with Share for review.

Sending a new version

After your fixes, go back to Publish: the button becomes Send to reviewers, and a sentence says what goes out (“Version 3 joins the review: 2 screens changed since version 2.”). The link stays the same. Only changed files are sent, and you can keep working while they are.

Reading comments

Your reviewers open the link, click “Comment”, then click what they want to remark on.

  • In the Review view, Comments mode: your reviews on the left; for the chosen review, who reads it, which version they see, the link, then the comment threads screen by screen, in the course’s order. Filter by Open, Resolved or All. See in the screen opens the thread in place, in Slide.
  • In Slide, the Comments button (next to Properties and Agent) shows the screen’s threads, with their pins on the canvas. Reply in place (⌘Enter sends), then Resolve; Reopen if needed.

Comments are checked every 30 seconds while the course is open (and right away with Check now). A blue dot on Review means something new; on the home page, the course’s card says “3 comments to handle”. A thread also says whether the screen changed since the version that was commented on.

Offline, your reply stays in its field: nothing goes out later on its own.

Handing fixes to your AI

Hand to the agent gives the open threads to the Agent panel, with a ready-made request (“Fix these remarks.”) that you can change. Each thread goes with its exact place in the course, and a rule: the AI fixes the course, but writes to no one and resolves no thread. Replying and resolving stay yours. The review page tells your reviewers that their comments may be handed to your AI.

For your AI to read the reviews by itself too, leave Your AI can read your reviews ticked in Settings › Account: it gets a key that can only read.

Managing a review

A review’s menu offers:

  • Copy the link, Rename…, Edit the note for reviewers…;
  • Make read-only (your reviewers read without commenting; you can still reply), then Reopen to comments;
  • Close the review: the link opens nothing any more, the comments stay readable here for a year, and Reopen the review remains possible;
  • Withdraw an older version… to free some room (its comments stay);
  • Create a new link…: the old one stops working at once;
  • Delete the review…: for everyone, reviewers included.

The link is kept on the computer that created the review. On another computer, create a new one to give it out. Your account has a limited number of open reviews: Settings › Account shows where you stand.
