A tour of the app
The home page, a course’s window and its five views, and the shortcuts you will use every day.
The home page
The home page opens on My courses.
- Library: your courses, each with its first screen as a thumbnail and the date it was modified. A card can also say “2 issues to fix” (red checks) or “3 comments to handle” (remarks from your reviewers). A click opens the course; the card’s … menu offers Export… and Delete.
- Examples: example courses that come with Elabora. A click opens your own copy, which you can change without fear; Start again from the example, in its … menu, makes a fresh one.
- Top right: Import… (a course from elsewhere) and New course.
- In the left column: Home, the Trash and, at the very bottom, the You menu: Sign in to Elabora… (or Account… once signed in), Your preferred AI… and Settings….
Under the courses, a note reminds you that Elabora is in beta, and the Coming in the next updates box says what is on its way.
A course’s window
At the top, the course’s bar:
- the house goes back Home;
- the course title opens a menu: Course settings, Theme, Translation, Export… (and Import report for a course imported from Storyline or Rise);
- the check mark next to the title says “Saved on this computer”: Elabora saves as you go, there is no save button. Clicking it opens the Course history;
- in the middle, the five views;
- on the right, Preview, which plays the course in its own window.

Slide, from left to right
- The list of screens, by chapter. ⌘B hides or shows it. When the window is narrow, it folds away by itself: bring the pointer to the left edge to slide it back in.
- The canvas: the screen as learners will see it. Above it, the layer tabs when the screen has layers; below it, the narration drawer (Script and Timeline).
- The toolbar: Text, Image, Media, Question and Course blocks to add a block; undo and redo; the zoom percentage, whose menu offers Fit to window, Phone width and Reading order; the magnifier to search the course.
- The right panel: Properties (the selected block or screen), Agent (your AI and what it did) and, when you are signed in, Comments. ⌥⌘B hides or shows it.
When the window gets narrower, the tools keep only their icons; at half a screen (next to your AI, for instance), the right panel floats over the canvas and a strip of thumbnails appears below it.
Handy shortcuts
On Windows, use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
| Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|
| ⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z | Undo / redo (everything the agent did in one batch counts as one step) |
| ⌘F | Search the course (in Course plan: search the plan) |
| ⌘B / ⌥⌘B | Hide or show the list / the right panel |
| Double-click, or Enter | Edit the selected text; Escape leaves without changing anything |
| ⌘D, ⌫ | Duplicate, delete the selected block |
| ⌥↑, ⌥↓ | Move the selected block up, down |
| ⌘C, ⌘V | Copy the block, paste it after the selected block, on any screen |
| ⌘, | Elabora settings |
Every change, yours or the agent’s, is one step that ⌘Z undoes. To go further back, use the history.
