The difference in one minute

Genially is a visual canvas in the browser. You start from one of its many templates and animate it: buttons, reveals, games, quizzes. It is quick, playful and made for co-editing.

Elabora starts from what learners must be able to do. The AI proposes a plan of objectives, parts and screens, then writes them; quizzes give feedback on each answer, and the package goes to your LMS.

What Genially does better

  • A free plan to start, and low prices for individuals.
  • Visuals and games: interactive images, quizzes, games and escape rooms, from more than 1,000 templates.
  • Co-editing in real time with no limit on collaborators.
  • LMS connections on the Author plan: SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI and LTI 1.3.

Where Elabora differs

  • A course, from a plan. The AI drafts objectives, parts and screens, and each package comes with a report of how the screens cover the plan.
  • SCORM 1.2 for free, tested against the rules of common LMSs.
  • Your files and your AI. A folder in an open format, and Claude, ChatGPT or a free chat to write it.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Genially if…

  • You make interactive presentations, infographics, games or escape rooms.
  • Your team co-edits in real time, with many collaborators.
  • You need xAPI or LTI 1.3 to connect several LMSs.

Choose Elabora if…

  • You build full courses with objectives, parts, quizzes and feedback.
  • You want SCORM 1.2 packages without a paid plan.
  • You want your AI to write the course, and your files on your computer.

Elabora’s limits today

We list them on every comparison. They are what we work on first.

  • One delivery format today: SCORM 1.2 packages and web links. If your LMS needs SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5, keep your current tool for those courses for now.
  • Importing Storyline and Rise courses is in beta. Some question types, triggers and interactions come over as text with a note, and the import report lists each one.
  • A young tool: the first public version came out on 20 October 2026, and Elabora is in beta. Expect fewer tutorials and community answers, and a new version every few days.
  • One author per course for now. Co-authoring and shared team spaces come later, with Elabora’s cloud.
  • A smaller library: 7 templates and starter blocks, and no stock library of photos or characters.
