The difference in one minute

iSpring Suite is a PowerPoint add-in. You build slides in PowerPoint, then add quizzes, dialogue simulations, narration and screen recordings, and publish. Your course is a presentation.

Elabora is a separate app. You describe the course and attach your documents, PowerPoint files included; the AI proposes a plan, then writes the screens in Elabora’s format.

What iSpring does better

  • The PowerPoint workflow. Authors keep the tool they know, with its animations and layouts.
  • More delivery formats. SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI and cmi5, HTML5, and MP4 video. Elabora delivers SCORM 1.2 and the web today.
  • Ready-made content. A Content Library of more than 130,000 assets.
  • Languages. AI translation into more than 70 languages and text-to-speech in 53 (Suite AI and Cloud AI).

Where Elabora differs

  • On Mac and Windows, as a desktop app, with no PowerPoint to install.
  • The AI as a co-author. Claude, ChatGPT or Elabora’s free chat writes the plan, then the screens. Each change can be reviewed and undone.
  • Beyond slides. Courses can be slides or a scrolling page, with 3D scenes and dialogues where characters speak.
  • Free, with files you keep, in an open format.

Which one should you choose?

Choose iSpring if…

  • Your courses start as PowerPoint presentations, and your authors know PowerPoint well.
  • Your LMS needs SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5, or you want MP4 videos of your courses.
  • You want a large library of ready-made assets, or text-to-speech in 53 languages.

Choose Elabora if…

  • You work on a Mac.
  • You want your AI to write the course from a brief and your documents.
  • You want 3D scenes, or dialogues where characters speak and learners answer.
  • SCORM 1.2 or a web link is enough, and you want a free tool.

Elabora’s limits today

We list them on every comparison. They are what we work on first.

  • One delivery format today: SCORM 1.2 packages and web links. If your LMS needs SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5, keep your current tool for those courses for now.
  • Importing Storyline and Rise courses is in beta. Some question types, triggers and interactions come over as text with a note, and the import report lists each one.
  • A young tool: the first public version came out on 20 October 2026, and Elabora is in beta. Expect fewer tutorials and community answers, and a new version every few days.
  • One author per course for now. Co-authoring and shared team spaces come later, with Elabora’s cloud.
  • A smaller library: 7 templates and starter blocks, and no stock library of photos or characters.
